Analisis Kesiapan Madrasah Tsnawiyah Negeri 1 Langkat Dalam Menghadapi Kompetensi Sains Madrasah (KSM)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the readiness of MTs Negeri 1 Langkat in facing the Madrasah Science Competition (KSM), an academic competition organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus includes infrastructure readiness, teacher competence, student motivation, and the role of school management. The findings indicate that MTs Negeri 1 Langkat has made several efforts to prepare for KSM, such as providing science laboratories and special coaching. However, limited teaching aids and lack of teacher training remain major obstacles. Both teachers and students need to enhance their understanding of integrating science with Islamic values. The support from school management and involvement of parents also play a crucial role in the preparation process. The study concludes that although there has been progress in some areas, MTs Negeri 1 Langkat needs to improve its strategic planning, teacher development, and collective participation to compete effectively in KSM.
