Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted in Class X-C of SMK Swasta Pemda Langkat Bahorok in the 2024/2025 academic year, focusing on efforts to improve students’ compliance with Islamic dress codes as a reflection of character through habituation and guidance activities. The background of this study lies in the low level of mastery, where only 39.39% of students achieved the minimum competency standard in the pre-cycle, while 60.60% had not yet reached it. The objectives of this research are to describe the initial condition of students’ compliance with dress codes, analyze the implementation of habituation and guidance methods, and measure learning improvement after the actions were applied. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ compliance with Islamic dress codes, marked by an increase in the number of students achieving mastery in cycles I and II, reaching more than 85%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of habituation and guidance methods is effective in enhancing students’ dress code compliance in accordance with Islamic values and in fostering religious character within the school environment..
