Abstract

This study aims to determine how the Merdeka Curriculum is implemented in the Akidah Akhlak subject at MAS Yaspend Muslim Pematang Tengah, particularly using the Quantum Teaching and Learning model, as well as to identify the obstacles faced by teachers and the results of its application on student learning activities. This study used a qualitative method with a case study model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the head of the madrasah, Akidah Akhlak teachers, and 11th grade students. The results showed that 1) The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has brought positive changes in Akidah Akhlak learning, where teachers are more actively involving students in learning activities such as discussions, projects, and worship practices. 2) There are still misunderstandings among some teachers about the meaning of “independent learning” and the application of the Pancasila Student Profile and Rahmatan lil Alamin due to a lack of training and guidance. 3) Some teachers still use old methods such as full lectures and assessments that only focus on final grades, rather than assessing the overall learning process of students. The school continues to strive to improve this through training and experience-sharing activities among teachers so that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum runs better and is in line with the objectives of Islamic education.
