Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems faced by teachers in responding to the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum in Fiqh learning and the efforts made to overcome these challenges at MTs Darul Arafah Pangkalan Berandan. Teachers must have a solid grasp of student-centered learning concepts, adaptable lesson plans, and creative teaching techniques in order to implement curriculum modifications. This study used field research techniques in a qualitative manner. The principal of the school, two Fiqh instructors, and a number of pupils served as research subjects. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used to gather data. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drafting were used in the data analysis process. The results show that the use of the Merdeka Curriculum in Fiqh instruction has improved student participation and engagement. Teachers still have to deal with a number of issues, such as a lack of knowledge of the Merdeka Curriculum, a wide range of student skill levels, a shortage of teaching time, an administrative burden, and inadequate facilities for support. Teachers have made a number of attempts to solve these issues, including self-directed learning, streamlining instructional techniques, enhancing classroom management, and bolstering cooperation with the school. These initiatives show how dedicated educators are to adjusting to curricular modifications in order to raise the standard of Fiqh instruction.
