This study aims to answer the questions in the following problem formulation:
1) How is the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) of Grade VIII Students at MTs Swasta Babussalam? 2) How is the Metacognition of Grade VIII Students at MTs Swasta Babussalam? 3) How is the Influence of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) of Students on Metacognition of Grade VIII Students at MTs Swasta Babussalam? This study uses a quantitative research method with a sample of 52 students. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, questionnaires, and documentation. While data analysis uses a simple linear regression test. The results of this study are: This study shows that emotional intelligence has a significant influence on residual metacognition, this is seen based on the results of the T test conducted using SPSS where emotional intelligence has a significant positive influence according to the results of the T test, namely a sig value of 0.000 <0.05. In addition, the value of the X Regression Coefficient of 0.870 states that if emotional intelligence (X) increases by one unit, student metacognition (Y) will increase by 87%. In addition, it is also known that some students are able to recognize and manage their emotions well, this is known based on the results of the average student score on the questionnaire, namely 67.3
