The implementation of Islamic Religious Education teacher training programs can improve the quality of teaching through the development of pedagogical and professional competencies. This includes training in innovative learning methods, the use of technology (such as AI), effective classroom management, and the development of soft skills such as communication and empathy. This training must be comprehensive, sustainable, and supported by adequate policies and facilities. The research in this thesis aims to determine how the implementation of teacher training programs improves the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning at SMP IT Ar-Ridha. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method intended to understand the phenomena experienced by the research subjects through descriptive methods in the form of words. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that the teacher training program in the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning has been optimally implemented, namely by involving all teachers and there was no evaluation after the implementation of the development program.
This was compounded by inhibiting factors such as teachers' lack of interest in development programs and the lack of a dedicated budget. However, SMP IT Ar-Ridha was able to overcome these inhibiting factors. The development program resulted in improvements in pedagogical competencies, including: knowledge of how to create a syllabus and lesson plans, as well as their implementation and evaluation; knowledge of using a variety of methods; computer skills; knowledge of proper and correct language use; and a greater understanding of teacher duties and functions.
