Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of grade VIII students at MTs Mulia Securai Private School due to the lack of innovation of teachers in the application of the learning model. This study aims to determine the application of the group investigation learning model in improving the learning outcomes of grade VII students in fiqh subjects at MTs Swasta Mulia Securai. This research uses a type of classroom action research or called Classroom Action Research.  The subjects in the classroom action research conducted by the researcher are all grade VIII students at MTs Swasta Mulia Securai which totals 14 students. The research procedures carried out include Planning, Action, Observation and Reflection activities. The results showed that the average pre-cycle score was 63 with classical completeness of 28.6%. In the first cycle, an average score of 70 was obtained with the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes classically only 42.9%. Meanwhile, in the second cycle, the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes was only 85.7% with an average score of 79. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the group investigation learning model can improve student learning outcomes in fiqh subjects for grade VII students of MTs Mulia Securai.
