Abstract

The importance of science learning in MIS YPII Tanjung Pura through the Mind Mapping learning method for students to find out their understanding of science learning so as to improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to apply Mind Mapping learning and understanding of science learning in MIS YPII Tanjung Pura. The type of this research is classroom action research with data collection tools of tests, observation sheets and documentation. Based on the research data, it is illustrated that the mind mapping learning model can improve student learning creativity. This can be seen in the results of the study, where before the research action was carried out, the average value of students in student learning creativity only reached 22.72% or was classified as not good. After implementing learning improvement measures through classroom action research (CLSR) in cycle I, the average student learning creativity score only increased to 67.05%, which is considered quite good. Then, in cycle II, the average student score increased again to 92.00%, which is considered good. The increase in student learning creativity from pre-action to cycle I was 47%, and the increase from cycle I to cycle II was 25%. Overall, the increase in student learning creativity from pre-action to cycle II was 71%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Mind Mapping learning model can improve student learning creativity in science subjects for grade IV MIS YPII Tanjung Pura.
