Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges faced by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in teaching generation Z at MTsS Miftahul Jannah, as well as explore the strategies and readiness of teachers in overcoming these obstacles. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research method, in which data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from PAI teachers and students. The results showed that, 1) PAI teachers face challenges in adjusting teaching methods to the characteristics of Generation Z, which is highly dependent on technology and requires materials that are more sesuait to daily life. 2) Teachers' readiness in teaching this generation is influenced by internal factors, such as professional competence and personal motivation, as well as external factors, including institutional support and community environment. 3) PAI teachers at MTsS Miftahul Jannah implement innovative strategies to increase students' interest in learning, such as utilizing interactive technology, linking material with social issues, and developing students' character through a contextual approach. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of innovation in learning methods to create effective religious education for Generation Z.
