This study examines the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) strategy in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to develop the religious values of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Gebang. The study was motivated by the conventional and teacher-centered learning approach, which resulted in low student participation and weak internalization of religious values in daily life. The objective of this research was to describe the application of PjBL in PAI learning and to analyze its impact on enhancing students’ religious values. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The primary informant was the PAI teacher, while seventh-grade students, the school principal, and the guidance and counseling teacher served as supporting informants. The findings indicate that the implementation of PjBL, particularly in the topic of Rukhsah (leniency in worship), successfully integrated cognitive understanding with contextual character building. The strategy improved students’ discipline in worship, strengthened responsibility and cooperation, and increased spiritual awareness. The study concludes that Project-Based Learning is an effective strategy for fostering religious values through meaningful and experiential learning activities in Islamic Religious Education.
