The results of the study explain the views of the Indonesian Ulema Council of Langkat Regency towards online gambling perpetrators, namely condemning the act as a serious violation of Islamic law, but still opening the door for the perpetrators to repent and return to the right path. The views of the Indonesian Ulema Council of Langkat Regency regarding the impact of online gambling on fulfilling obligations to the family are that online gambling has a very large negative impact on the family's economic obligations. Online gambling addiction causes heads of households to ignore their responsibilities in meeting the basic needs of the family, such as food, education, and health. The recommendations and steps given by the Indonesian Ulema Council of Langkat Regency in dealing with online gambling problems include various strategic efforts, such as strengthening public education, strict law enforcement, and cooperation between the MUI, the government, and law enforcement officers. However, the success of the steps taken by the MUI of Langkat Regency is considered still low. The MUI is limited to issuing fatwas and moral appeals, while concrete actions such as blocking online gambling sites by the Ministry of Communication and Information and taking action by law enforcement officers are key factors that are not yet fully effective.
