Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Al-Qur'an Hadith subject teachers in instilling moral values among students at MTs Negeri 1 Langkat amidst the challenges of globalization. Globalization, with its stream of cultural, value-based, and informational influences, has become a significant challenge in shaping the character of the younger generation. Therefore, Islamic education, particularly the Al-Qur’an Hadith subject, holds a strategic role in strengthening students' moral foundations. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that Al-Qur’an Hadith teachers implement integrative, affective, participatory, and reflective teaching strategies. These strategies include role modeling, habitual practice, integrating Qur'anic values with students’ real-life experiences, and character development through social and religious activities. Challenges brought by globalization such as hedonism, liberalism, and identity crises are addressed by instilling Qur’anic values through internalization, contextual learning, and project-based approaches. The study concludes that teachers play a central role as value models (uswah hasanah) and moral mentors (murabbi). The strategies applied have proven effective in strengthening students’ religious character, including honesty, discipline, empathy, and responsibility. The implications of this research contribute significantly to the development of character education based on Islamic values that are adaptive to the dynamics of modern times.
