Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the strategies implemented by MAN 2 Langkat in maintaining the stability of student achievement in the Madrasah Science Competition (KSM), identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation, and evaluate the results of these strategies. This study used a qualitative approach with field research. The research subjects included the Madrasah Principal, the Deputy Principal for Curriculum, the KSM Supervisor Teacher, and the KSM High-Achieving Students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that MAN 2 Langkat's strategy was implemented through three main stages: planning (selection of talented students, development of a structured program, preparation of a mentoring team), implementation (problem-solving and HOTS- based learning integrated with Islamic values, personal mentoring, periodic tryouts, spiritual guidance), and evaluation and development (ongoing monitoring, reward-punishment, infrastructure development, and partnerships). Supporting factors include competent human resources, adequate facilities, structured management, external support, and a religious organizational culture. Inhibiting factors include budget and time constraints, student academic load, intense competition, geographical constraints, and social views. The strategy implementation resulted in significant achievements, including third place in the 2025 North Sumatra OSM (School of Student Affairs) with 10 medals, dominance at the district level, increased student academic-spiritual competency, strengthened madrasah reputation, expanded partnership networks, and long- term impacts such as opening up higher education opportunities and enhancing the madrasah's positive image in the community
