PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN ROLE PLAYING DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN BACAAN SHALAT FARDU SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN FIKIH DIKELAS VIII MTS JAM’IYAH MAHMUDIYAH TANJUNG PURA

This study aims to improve students’ understanding of the recitation of obligatory prayers (shalat fardu) through the implementation of the Role Playing learning method in the subject of Fiqh for class VIII students at MTs Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah Tanjung Pura. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were eighth-grade students who had difficulties in understanding and practicing the recitations of shalat fardu. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to identify improvements in teacher activity, student activity, and student learning outcomes.The results of the study indicate that the application of the Role Playing learning method can improve students’ understanding of the recitations of shalat fardu. This can be seen from the increased activities of teachers and students in both cycle I and cycle II. The teacher’s observation score in cycle I was 76.67 (fair) and increased to 86.67 (good) in cycle II. Similarly, students’ activity scores increased from 75 in cycle I to 93.33 in cycle II. Furthermore, students’ test results showed a significant improvement, from 63.63% before treatment to 75.75% in cycle I, and further increased to 87.87% in cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Role Playing learning method is effective in improving students’ understanding of the recitation of shalat fardu in the subject of Fiqh for class VIII students at MTs Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah Tanjung Pura.
