In Islamic Religious Education, some students experience learning difficulties, such as a lack of understanding of the material, low interest in reading and learning, and a lack of motivation. Students' failure to achieve learning goals is a problem. The challenges students face require serious attention, as these issues can negatively impact both the individual and their environment. This is where teachers' efforts are crucial to addressing these issues. Based on this description, the author is interested in conducting this research. The question is: How does differentiated learning implementation address learning gaps in seventh-grade students at MTs. S Darul Arafah Pangkalan Brandan? The research method used was qualitative field research, while the nature of this study was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The techniques used to ensure data validity included source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the author's research results, it can be concluded that, first, the learning difficulties experienced by students are caused by factors within the students themselves. These factors include low student interest and motivation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Second, external factors influencing students' learning difficulties are factors originating outside the students themselves, including family, school, and environmental factors. Teachers address learning gaps by using varied learning methods, engaging in approaches, conducting icebreakers, using learning media in the form of videos or images appropriate to the teaching material, and implementing remedial programs.
