Abstract

This study aims to reveal the perception of class XII fiqh teachers at MAN 2 Langkat in designing and implementing research-based learning in fiqh subjects. The approach used is qualitative by involving school principals, fiqh teachers, and students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the implementation of this method. The results showed that 1) Teachers have a positive perception of research-based learning, as it helps students in developing critical and analytical thinking skills. 2) The implementation of this learning involves analyzing themes or problems relevant to fiqh material, with teacher guidance in observing phenomena around them. Although there are obstacles, such as students' low initial ability in critical thinking, teachers have overcome them through concrete examples and structured guidance.  3) This research-based learning also successfully connects theory and practice, where real cases are integrated with the principles of Islamic law, so that students can understand the material more applicable and relevant.
