This study aims to improve students' Quranic reading skills through the application of the Ummi Method to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith subject, specifically the law of mim mati (dead mim) in the seventh-grade students at the Hujjaturrahmah Islamic Boarding School. The background of this study is the low level of students' Quranic reading skills, particularly in terms of fluency, tajweed accuracy, and reading etiquette. The Ummi Method was chosen as a solution because it offers a systematic, structured, and gradual learning approach. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which was implemented in two cycles with 26 students of class VII-B MTs Pondok Pesantren Hujjaturrahmah in the 2025-2026 academic year as research subjects. Data collection techniques include tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by measuring the learning completeness of students who achieved a KKTP score of 75 with the number of students completing above 85%. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Ummi Method was carried out in a planned manner through seven learning stages: Opening, Apperception, Concept Instillation, Concept Understanding, Practice/Skills, Evaluation, and Closing, with the techniques of muroja'ah, talaqqi, reading and listening, habituation of tartil reading, classical and individual learning, and reading drills. The application of this method has been proven effective in improving students' ability to read the Qur'an. In the pre-action, the average student score was 74.15 with 15 out of 26 students completing (57.69%). In Cycle I, the average score increased to 82.54 with 19 out of 26 students completing (73.08%). In Cycle II, the average score increased to 88.23 with 24 out of 26 students completing (92.31%). Students are not only able to read the Al-Qur'an accurately and fluently, but are also adept at applying the laws of dead mim (ikhfa syafawi, idgham mimi, and idzhar syafawi), as well as increasing their motivation and activeness in learning.
