Abstract

This research aims to determine how the implementation of project-based learning influences students’ learning interest in the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject at MAS Jam’iyah Mahmudiyah Tanjung Pura. The focus of the study includes the strategies used by teachers to increase students’ learning interest through the project-based learning model, as well as the challenges faced during the learning process. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of interviews with teachers and students, project-based learning was found to create a more active, creative, and meaningful learning atmosphere. The implementation of project-based learning is not only effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes but also contributes to the development of students’ affective and psychomotor aspects. The study concludes that the application of project-based learning significantly influences students’ learning interest. Through the stages of planning, implementing, and presenting projects, students not only gain a deeper understanding of the material but also develop creativity, responsibility, and social skills.
