Abstract

This research is motivated by the government’s policy mandating the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in all Indonesian schools, including madrasahs. The study aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at MIS Al-Hidayah Hinai. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, with primary sources consisting of the principal, curriculum division, and teachers, while secondary data included institutional documents and supporting literature. Data validity was tested using source triangulation. The results indicate that teachers hold positive perceptions toward the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, recognizing its role in fostering creativity and autonomy in learning. Teachers also play a crucial role in determining the success of curriculum implementation. However, some challenges remain, such as limited understanding of the curriculum’s principles, inadequate IT skills, and insufficient professional training. Efforts to overcome these challenges include enhancing teachers’ comprehension through training and mentoring, as well as improving the availability of supporting facilities provided by the madrasah
