Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving digital competence in Islamic education learning at MAS Al-Washliyah Pangkalan Berandan. The research employed a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, PAI teachers, and students as research subjects. The results showed that teachers’ efforts in improving digital competence were carried out through the utilization of digital learning media, the use of online learning platforms, participation in digital training and workshops, and the integration of technology into the learning process. Supporting factors included the availability of technological facilities, institutional support, and students’ interest in digital-based learning. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consisted of limited infrastructure, unstable internet connectivity, and varying levels of teachers’ digital literacy. The study concludes that improving teachers’ digital competence significantly contributes to creating more effective, interactive, and innovative Islamic education learning. Therefore, continuous training and institutional support are needed to optimize the integration of digital technology in Islamic education learning.
