Abstract

This study was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDIT Ummul Qur’an in the IPAS subject due to teacher-centered learning, so a learning model that encourages student activity in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum is needed, one of which is Project Based Learning. This study aimed to determine the effect of Project Based Learning on students’ critical thinking skills using a quantitative associative approach. The research sample consisted of 22 fifth-grade students, with data collection techniques including tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential tests including normality test, simple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination using SPSS. The results showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning was in the good category and students’ critical thinking skills were in the high category. Inferential test results showed a significance value < 0.05, indicating that Project Based Learning has a significant and effective effect in improving students’ critical thinking skills.
