Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in integrating religious and innovative values in students in the Generation Z era at Hinai 1 Public High School. The focus of this study is how teachers can instill strong religious values while encouraging students to be creative and dare to work in accordance with the times. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of PAI teachers, students, and school officials. Data analysis is carried out through reduction, presentation, and verification to find clear patterns regarding learning practices. The results of the study show three important findings. First, PAI learning at SMA Negeri 1 Hinai has been adapted to the needs of Generation Z students by utilizing digital media, discussions, quizzes, and videos so that religious lessons are more interesting and easier to understand. Second, students already have a basic understanding of religious values such as prayer, honesty, and manners. Although they are not yet fully consistent, they show innovative attitudes through creative works such as video sermons, digital posters, and Islamic articles, proving that religious values and innovation can go hand in hand. Third, PAI teachers play a major role as mentors who connect theory with practice through projects, discussions, role models, and the use of social media, so that students not only understand religious teachings but also become accustomed to thinking creatively, having good character, and being able to face the challenges of the modern era. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of PAI teacher innovation in balancing religious values and student creativity in the Generation Z era.
