Abstract

The background to this research was that as a result of initial observations at MTs Al Amanah, the researcher obtained some information regarding the learning process of Islamic Cultural History in class VIII so far. It turns out, the process of learning the History of Islamic Culture in class still uses classic learning strategies where learning is centered on the teacher, so that students are less involved in the existing learning process and students are less interested and bored in the learning process. Using the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy is expected to improve student learning outcomes so that they are competent Students' knowledge can develop well regarding knowledge in the subjects of Figures and History. The purpose of this research is: To determine student learning outcomes in learning History of Islamic Culture class VIII MTs Al Amanah after implementing the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy. This research was conducted in the form of Class Action research. According to the type of research chosen, namely classroom action research, this research uses an action research model in the form of a spiral and one cycle to the next. The results of this research are: Student learning outcomes in the History of Islamic Culture subject for class VIII students at MTs Al Amanah after using the Crossword Puzzle learning strategy have increased. In the analysis of test results for cycles I and II it can be seen that there has been an increase in student learning outcomes, namely in the cycle In the first cycle, only 16 students had a passing score or 72.7% and in the second cycle there were 21 students or 95.5% who had completed, which was an increase of 22.8%.
