Abstract

Teachers apply rewards and punishments in the learning process. Giving rewards and punishments is one technique to build discipline as done by the subject teacher of Aqidah Akhlak, grade VII MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan. This study focuses on the discussion of the influence, magnitude of influence and relationship between giving rewards and punishments on students' disciplined behavior in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak, grade VII MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan. In this study, the author uses a quantitative research type that is correlational. Respondents in this study were 100 students of class VII at MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan. Data processing used Microsoft Office Excel and SPSS applications. The results of the study explain that both partially and simultaneously there is a significant influence between reward and punishment on students' disciplinary behavior in the Aqidah Akhlak Subject of class VII MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan. These results were obtained from the hypothesis test conducted using SPSS, namely the t-test for partial tests and the f-test for simultaneous tests. The provision of rewards and punishments affects students' disciplinary behavior in the Aqidah Akhlak subject of class VII MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan by 54.4%. There is a positive or parallel relationship between variables X1 and X2 to Y. This means that if the teacher of the Aqidah Akhlak Subject of class VII MTsS Darul Hikmah Pangkalan Brandan gives rewards to students who excel and follow the rules and gives punishment to students who break the rules properly, then students' disciplinary behavior will increase, and vice versa if the provision of rewards and punishments is bad, then student discipline will decrease
