Kompetensi Manajerial Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Siswa di Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Babussalam Besilam

This research is motivated by the need to understand how the managerial competence of the head of the Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah) can contribute to improving student discipline at Madrasah Aliyah Babussalam Besilam. The type and approach of the research used in this study are qualitative research. The data collection techniques and tools used in this research are interviews, observations, and documentation methods, repeated to ensure their validity. The data analysis techniques used are Data Reduction, Data Presentation, and Conclusion Drawing/Verification.The results of this study indicate that overall, the level of student discipline at MAS Babussalam Besilam is considered quite good but has not reached 100%. The student discipline percentage is estimated to be around 80%. Although the school principal and the student affairs coordinator (WKM kesiswaan) believe that the discipline level is already quite good, some teachers express different opinions. According to them, the level of student discipline is still low and ineffective.The efforts of the head of the Islamic Senior High School to improve discipline can be seen in the active implementation of managerial strategies. In the planning phase, the principal involves parents in the admission process by providing a deep understanding of school rules and designing short-term programs for the next two years with specific goals. Organization is carried out through task assignments and responsibilities, including emphasis on school rules and regulations. The implementation of the work program is executed according to the plan with continuous monitoring and motivation for teachers and staff.Supervision is carried out by controlling daily duty teachers and using student attendance as a tool to monitor attendance and student involvement. Continuous evaluation involves all relevant parties, and the results are used to adjust and improve management implementation. Supporting factors in the head of the Islamic Senior High School's efforts to improve student discipline involve full support from teachers and madrasah elements, the key role of Guidance and Counseling (BK), the firmness and exemplary behavior of teachers, and positive contributions from the school committee and parents.On the other hand, inhibiting factors include students' lack of awareness, inconsistent sanction enforcement, the influence of the environment and family, non-harmonious family conditions, and a lack of teacher attention.
