Peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam Dalam Membentuk Toleransi Siswa Pada Generasi Z Di SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the attitudes of Generation Z students at SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura, given the urgency of instilling values of diversity in the digital age. Using a qualitative approach with field study methods through observation, interviews, and documentation, this study examines how teachers instill tolerance values, the forms of tolerance attitudes that emerge, and the strategies applied. The results show that PAI teachers effectively serve as educators, mentors, and role models. This role is realized through strategies of integrating tolerance values into teaching materials, using discussion-based learning methods and role modeling, as well as personal guidance. The main findings show that the formation of tolerance attitudes in Gen Z students can be seen from the existence of mutual respect, cooperation, and acceptance of differences in the school environment. In conclusion, the role of PAI teachers is proven to be significant in shaping the tolerant character of Gen Z students, which provides them with important preparation for facing the challenges of a multicultural society.
